Getting Married in Slovenia From Abroad: How Bridal Hair and Makeup Works

Booking, planning your look from home, and how the wedding morning runs when you fly in for your Slovenian wedding.

A bride and groom on a hill above the rooftops of Ljubljana

Slovenia has become one of Europe's favourite wedding destinations: Lake Bled, Bohinj, Ljubljana's old town, the vineyards of Brda and the coast. Many of my brides fly in from other countries. Here is how we plan your look when you live far away.

Booking from abroad

  • Write to me with your date, location and the number of people who need hair and makeup.
  • You get a quote with your price and the travel, which depends on the distance.
  • After our video call or your trial, a deposit reserves your date.
  • We plan everything by e-mail, messages and video calls, in English, Slovenian or Serbian/Croatian. I also understand some Russian.

Planning your look remotely

If you can't come for a trial months before, we plan together over video. You send me your dress, inspiration and daylight photos of your skin, and we agree on the direction. If you arrive a few days early, we do the trial in Slovenia. More on this in Do I really need a bridal trial?

Where I do your makeup

Most couples rent an apartment or a house near their venue and get ready there. I come to you with everything I need. If you are still choosing, read how to choose your getting-ready Airbnb.

Lake Bled, Ljubljana, Brda, the coast

I work all over Slovenia. Each region has its own rhythm: summer traffic around Lake Bled, the drive into the hills of Brda, parking in Ljubljana's old town. I plan the morning around where you get ready and how far it is to the ceremony.

Early starts and big bridal parties

A morning ceremony with a large bridal party can mean an early start. For bigger groups I work with my team of assistants and makeup artists, so everyone is ready on time and the bride is never rushed. The bride is usually the last to be finished, so her look is the freshest.

Touch-ups and a second look

If you want to look fresh for the portraits after the ceremony, or change to a different look for the evening, I can stay with you through the day for an extra fee.

Questions

Do you speak English?+

Yes. Planning and the wedding day itself run in English, no problem.

Do you travel to my venue?+

Yes, anywhere in Slovenia. Travel is charged separately, depending on the distance.

What if the weather changes our plans?+

We prepare a style for the expected weather and a backup for rain, so nothing is decided in panic on the day.
